I was recently asked as to why I liked Tulsi. Why does anyone who like Tulsi like Tulsi?

What are the negative qualities of a politician?
1. Hungry for power. Aiming to retain power by any means available. Corrupt. Flexible morality allowing oneself to benefit monetarily.
3. No 'skin in the game'. Send young sons of the country to die in wars while being safely protected. Even worse, waging wars for personal benefit.
Does this sound like a decent list? Think of a politician you don't link. Do they have one or more of these qualities?
It is truly a rare opportunity to have a better option. Consider the case of Tulsi.
She was a rising star in the party, groomed for heights. She was appointed vice-chair of the DNC. There was rigging going on, but all she had to do was shut up and allow the powers that be to continue. Speaking up would cost her dear. Be honest, what would most of us do in this situation? Even in simpler cases like the corporate world?
Tulsi resigned from the DNC vice-chair, a position that any lesser politician would kill for. She introduced a resolution to end super-delegates & make the process truly democratic. As a repercussion, she earned her enemies in high political & media circles, who are trying various smears to destroy her political career. This shows a certain inner strength & principle, which Tulsi supporters rally around.
Of all the people, there is something special about anyone who is willing to put their life on the line for the country. She is a serving major in the armed forces, and has served for 18 years. Unlike others who declare war in comfort with no 'skin in the game', she has seen the costs of war first hand. Military intervention should be done only as a last resort for a specific goal, by someone who truly understands the costs. Maybe it is her military experience which gave her the courage to not subject herself to unprincipled actions as the DNC vice-chair, making her resign. She seems to have moral strength & courage.

Early in her life, she endorsed her father's anti-gay movement. Later, her views changed & she issued a public apology. She didn't egoistically brazen it out. If there are policies that you disagree with, she seems like someone who can be reasoned with. It takes a rare kind of courage to publicly apologize & to admit mistakes.
It is the hope of Tulsi supporters that people can see beyond the smears by her powerful enemies and consider her candidature.
